About the role

Being a member of the nationwide Pasture Systems agronomy team involves getting out and about, talking to farmers, industry groups and customers alike whilst advocating the benefits and features of pasture based systems. To assist you with this, there will be some research trial work with a farm systems focus. The role has a high level of autonomy; however it must be undertaken in a way that aligns with Barenbrug Agriseeds values.

You will also work closely with the local sales team members, as well as members of our wider company, to maximise the benefit the industry gets from Barenbrug Agriseeds.

This role is based in the central South Island, with travel required to get involved in the Canterbury, West Coast and Tasman regions of the South Island.

About You

You need to have an interest and strong technical ability in pastoral agronomy, with in depth knowledge in both sheep and beef, and dairy sectors. You should also feel comfortable and confident when speaking in front of farmers, industry groups and customers, with the ability to also listen and digest information.

You will value the importance of team work, and strive to assist all team members as much as you can, along with having a real drive for professional and personal development. The ability to think critically and push boundaries in terms of your thinking is a must for this role.

A positive attitude and personal responsibility are also essential.
