Widespread - common in yards and gateways. Perennial.
Has small white to lilac flowers and dark green leaves that are almost round with broad shallow teeth. Seedlings
have two heart shaped leaves on long stalks, followed by true leaves of the normal shape.
Mainly germinates in the autumn. Can present a serious problem in new pasture because it cannot be selectively controlled by herbicides. Stock do not eat it and it is to some extent poisonous.
