Winter Nursery Programme

Agriseeds conducts winter nursery programmes for plant breeding companies from the northern hemisphere, focusing on crops like autumn and spring cereals, peas, oilseeds and other crops suited for growing in temperate climates for seed production.

Agriseeds is an experienced winter nursery provider in the southern hemisphere. We have been involved in partnerships with major northern hemisphere plant breeders since 1987. Our services range from single seed planting to large-scale seed multiplications.

• Precision planter for row planting (Hege 95B)
• Three oyjord cone seeders for plots
• Duncan drill for large multiplications

Harvesting, thrashing and cleaning equipment

• Wintersteiger Seedmaster and Kingaroy plot harvester
• Wintersteiger Expert and John Deere for harvesting large multiplications
• Four Wintersteiger/Peltz thrashers
• Three single ear thrashers
• Modern seed cleaning facilities, including a Westrup.

Agriseeds is able to import most arable crop seeds directly into New Zealand. We enjoy a good relationship with Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry quarantine service (MAF Biosecurity), and no particular importation barriers are imposed.
